The theme for his year’s Annual Catholic Appeal’s is Together we bring
light. This theme is rooted in the gospels, and it speaks to deep needs in our
world. Our world is often shrouded in darkness, clearly the darkness of
war, violence, poverty and hunger but also the darkness of sin and ignorance
of the gospel of Jesus Christ.
Travel to the beautiful Philippines from February 15 to 22, 2027, on an incredible mission trip led by Fr. Jake Beltran as he shares his home region with our parish community. Together, we will directly support a local partner school through hands-on service projects, classroom visits with students, daily Mass, and authentic community experiences.
On September 28, St. Joseph Parish reached a historic milestone as the Village of Libertyville’s Appearance Review Commission unanimously approved plans for the new St. Joseph Parish Center (SJPC).
Please join us at Mass the weekend of October 10/11. Fr. Jake and Deacon Dan will share an important update on the St. Joseph Parish Center at every Mass, including news about our timeline and our funding. We will have a handout with the new timeline and updated renderings. If you can be with us in person, we would love to see you.

As we begin this new year of religious education, please keep our catechists and their students in your prayers. Pray that the Holy Spirit guides them, gives them joy and patience, and helps them be a reflection of Christ to every child they encounter.
If you have driven past St. Joseph lately, you have seen it: the former Parish Office is down and the site is clear. Demolition began July 20 and was finished in time for the start of the school year, which was our goal from the start. It took careful planning and a tight window between Libertyville Days and Mass in the Park, and we are grateful to everyone who made it happen.
The St. Joseph Parish Center project continues to make great progress! Parish staff have moved into their new offices, construction is underway on a new conference center in the 200 building, and demolition of the former parish office is expected to be completed by mid-August.
The fencing is up! Exciting progress is being made on the St. Joseph Parish Center (SJPC) project. For more than a year and a half, our volunteer Design and Construction Team has been working behind the scenes to help plan the future of our parish campus.
Children in grades K–8 are invited to share their voices, grow in faith, and experience the joy of worshiping together through music. Rehearsals begin Wednesday, September 23, and will take place weekly on Wednesdays from 4:30–5:30 PM in the Church through May 5. Children will also have the opportunity to sing at the 9:00 AM or 11:00 AM Mass on Mass Instead of Class days, sharing their gifts with our parish family.
Progress continues at St. Joe’s as demolition of the former Parish Office began last week, marking another key step in the St. Joseph Parish Center project.

It is with sadness that we share the passing of Fr. John Hennessey, our pastor emeritus, who passed away on Sunday, June 14, 2026, at the age of 84. Read more here.
New signage went up at the new Parish Office today! Things are getting pretty official over here! Please help us out and remind your St. Joe’s friends that our Parish Office has now moved to a new location so we can begin construction on our new St. Joseph Parish Center this summer.
